Modern designs that transform your kitchen and your lifestyle
- layout and positioning of key elements – hobs, sinks, appliances
- positioning and addition of storage areas
- kitchen islands and benchtops
- lighting – including additions of skylights
- tiles, flooring and splashbacks – with colour schemes and materials that tie together the whole concept
- appliances – although we don’t supply appliances we can recommend which style and functionality of appliances will suit the whole design
In the existing layout, the outdoor entertainment area was disconnected and randomly positioned windows caused a lack of natural light and storage space leading to baking equipment being kept in the garage. The dining table, as in so many homes, had become a dumping ground leaving no seating space.
We replaced the windows with one long narrow window, providing natural light that allowed storage units above and connected the kitchen/outdoor area. The kitchen and dining areas were combined to provide a larger kitchen with four zones – a cooking zone with fridge, sink and free-standing range, a baking zone with plenty of storage, a cleaning/storage zone and an entertainment zone which included seating and a bar fridge.
The double width island serves as the dining table with ample space for serving platters in the centre. Although the couple initially wanted white on white, a coloured splashback and parquet flooring were introduced to give warmth and texture, while green bar stools connected the indoors with outdoors.
